It would appear that the Heroic+ dungeon difficulty and raid loot changes aren’t the only major change that Blizzard is planning to make in WotLK Classic.
One more change that was announced in the same livestream is that upon completing a normal or heroic dungeon, the game will now give the tank & healer of that group bonus rewards. These rewards will typically be consumables, but there’s a small chance that players can also get a rare pet or mount, such as Baron Rivendare’s Deathcharger’s Reins, the Reins of the Raven Lord, or Kael’thas’ Swift White Hawkstrider.
The reasoning behind this change is simple: Blizzard has noticed that DPS players frequently have long wait times, as tanks and healers are scarce. At the same time, tanks and healers typically have a tougher time farming than DPS players and thus struggle to obtain consumables. Thus this change should help both parties; DPS players get faster dungeon groups, while tanks & healers can farm their consumables via regular dungeons, with a small chance of a nifty little bonus.
This change has many long-time tank and healer players excited, as it adds a bonus incentive to running dungeons past the point where you have all the gear you need!
