Love is in the Air has plenty of achievements to grab each year, including the meta achievement fool-for-love. This meta achievement is a requirement for What A Long Strange Trip and the Violet Proto-Drake, so make sure you don’t miss out! Finishing this will also grant you the title The Love Fool, one of the more popular titles outside of Classic, even to this day.
To get the meta achievement players will need to complete 12 out of the 15 total event achievements. Most of these are fairly simple, requiring players to eat chocolate, collect candy hearts, and flirt with some of Azeroth’s most eligible bachelors. Alongside all of this, players will need to undertake an investigation into the Crown Chemical Company in an attempt to find out just what is in their perfume and cologne.
Love is in the Air is available from the 7th of February until the 21st of February.
The primary currency during the event is love-tokens, obtained by either doing event-specific daily quests, or killing enemies and trading in lovely-charm-bracelets. These can then be spent visiting the Lovely Merchants in all capital cities, typically found outside the local auction house.
Doing all the daily quests will give you around 30 love-tokens per day, and you will need around 150 to purchase everything from the event. This means you will need to spend almost a full week doing dailies in order to purchase everything, but players only looking to finish their achievements won’t need this many.
The Meta achievement for Love is In the Air requires you to complete 12 out of the 15 Event achievements, excluding tough-love, lovely-luck-is-on-your-side, and perma-peddle.
Completing fool-for-love will award the title The Love Fool, and is required for What A Long Strange Trip. If you’re in the market for a Violet Proto-Drake, you won’t want to miss out this year.
Most of the required achievements are easy enough, requiring very little luck with random chance. A handful of these will require other players to help you out, meaning you can’t complete this alone!
The first step in getting this achievement is to pick up the daily quest from your local Kwee Q. Peddlefeet. Peddlefeet can be found in all capital cities and which quest he offers depends on which city you talk to him in. His quest will ask you to provide a lovely-charm-bracelet to the ruler of that particular city, for example Magni Bronzebeard in Ironforge.
This quest will provide you with a lovely-charm-collectors-kit, allowing you to collect lovely-charms through the time honored tradition of killing things. Every enemy that would give honor or experience has a chance to give you a lovely-charm, meaning gray level enemies will not award any charms. These will appear directly in your inventory, and do not need to be looted manually.
10 lovely-charms can then be combined into a single lovely-charm-bracelet. Bracelets are used to finish Peddlefeets quests and once you make 12 of them, you will unlock this achievement. You don’t need to hold onto them, or have 12 at the same time, just make 12 total.
We are definitely the disaster in this achievement. The first step in unlocking this one is to stock up on supplies. You will need a decent amount of alcohol. I’m partial to chugging a few full jug-of-bourbon, but every capital has enough alcohol to satisfy your preference. Visit your local Lovely Merchant and pick up a bottle of perfume, you’ll need something to cover the smell of bourbon.
Visit the Lovely Merchant in any capital cities and buy a handful-of-rose-petals for 2 love-tokens. You might even have some left over if you have already started doing fistful-of-love.
Now for the actual achievement. Track down sraaz the Pie Vendor in Ironforge if you’re Alliance, or jeremiah-payson the Cockroach Vendor in Undercity if you’re Horde. Chug your alcohol of choice until you reach the “Completely Smashed!” status and apply your Bottle of Perfume. Approach your Valentine-To-Be and throw a handful-of-rose-petals straight in their face, it’s more romantic that way. Now that you’re drunk, drenched in perfume, and fresh out of rose petals, use /kiss on Sraaz or Jeremiah and enjoy your new achievement and secret shame.
Complete the quest “Crushing the Crown” for Inspector Snip Snagglebolt in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. This is the final step in a chain of quests starting with Uncommon Scents started in any capital. Full details on this quest chain can be found in our Love is in the Air Event Guide.
Didn’t we just do this? The same deal as the Lunar Festival achievements, fire off 10 love-rockets in 20 seconds or less. The Lovely Merchants in each capital city sells 5 love-rockets for 5 love-tokens. These are ground targeted and have a short cooldown, so some players may want to place these on their action bars instead of clicking in their bag repeatedly.
Nothing says Valentines quite like a box-of-chocolates bought for yourself and eaten alone. You can buy your chocolates for 10 love-tokens from the Lovely Merchants in all capital cities. Each box contains a random assortment of chocolates, so there is no guarantee that one is enough. Once you have all four chocolates, very-berry-cream, dark-desire, buttermilk-delight, and sweet-surprise, you can eat each of them to unlock this achievement!
I recommend saving a buttermilk-delight for the achievement lonely, feeding two birds with one scone.
To get this one you will need to get either a bouquet-of-red-roses or a bouquet-of-ebon-roses. These are dropped by Prince Keleseth in Utgarde Keep, Prince Taldaram in Ahn’kahet, and Maiden of Grief in Halls of Stone. These should drop on Normal, Heroic, and Heroic+ versions of these bosses. This is just a case of killing the boss until you get your roses, there isn’t much more to it.
Shoot 10 players with Silver Shafted Arrows. The Lovely Merchants found in every capital city sells 5 Silver Shafted Arrows for 5 love-tokens. Simply grab 10 of these and fire off at whoever you can find.
The one caveat to this is that the target needs to not have a mini-pet out, as this arrow will provide them a temporary miniature Kwee Q. Peddle feet of their own. On any regular day this wouldn’t be difficult, but during the event you may struggle to compete for pet-less players, so keep an eye out!
There is nothing quite like a lovely picnic in the middle of a magical floating city, surrounded by heavily armored orcs and elves. For this one you’ll need to purchase a romantic-picnic-basket and at least one box-of-chocolates. These both cost 10 love-tokens each from the Lovely Merchant found in all capital cities.
Open box-of-chocolates until you get your hands on a delicious buttermilk-delight. Place your Dalaran, place your romantic-picnic-basket down and convince someone to take a seat on your picnic blanket. Once you and your date are comfortable, scarf down your buttermilk-delight while making sure you maintain eye contact at all times. This is what people call “flirting”, or so I’m told.
Complete the four daily quests offered by Kwee Q. Peddlefeet in each of your factions capital cities.
These quests will provide you with a lovely-charm-collectors-kit, allowing you to collect lovely-charms through the time honored tradition of killing things. Every enemy that would give honor or experience has a chance to give you a lovely-charm, meaning gray level enemies will not award any charms. These will appear directly in your inventory, and do not need to be looted manually.
10 lovely-charms can then be combined into a single lovely-charm-bracelet. Bring a lovely-charm-bracelet over to the capitals leader and turn in your quest.
Each quest will award you 5 love-tokens as well as a lovely card. The cards are city specific, and offer a small stat buff on use. For example, the lovely-thunder-bluff-card gives Stamina, while the lovely-darnassus-card gives Agility.
Another event means another achievement aimed at finding specific class/race combos and doing something to them. In this case, that something is throwing a handful-of-rose-petals at them, providing a cozy cascade of romance to show that you appreciate them.
You can purchase 5 handful-of-rose-petals for 2 love-tokens from the Lovely Merchant found in all capital cities.
The combinations for this one are less common, but you should be able to find them over the course of the event. Of course, you need both factions, so players on single faction servers will need to find them in Battlegrounds. Wintergrasp is usually a good place to start looking, giving you a large amount of players on both sides.
I hope you aren’t sick of candy yet. For this one you will need to obtain and eat all 8 variations of heart-candy-3. These are found in bag-of-heart-candies, available for 2 love-tokens from the Lovely Merchants found in all capital cities. Each bag has 10 charges, with each charge giving one piece of heart-candy-1. Getting all 8 variants will likely take more than 1 bag-of-heart-candies, but not by much.
After eating all 8 variations, you’ll likely have a bunch of leftover candy. These can be traded, so make sure you always give your loot council their daily “I LOVE YOU” heart-candy-2!
For this one you need to use the /pity emote on a love-fool in specific locations around the world. These locations are The Culling of Stratholme (Dungeon), Naxxramas (Raid), the Arathi Basin Blacksmith (Battleground), Wintergrasp, and the Battle Ring of the Gurubashi Arena. The first two are easy enough, go into the dungeon or raid, place your love-fool and pity the poor feller.
You will need to purchase a total of 5 love-fools from the Lovely Merchants found in all capital cities. These cost 10 love-tokens each and last for 15 seconds.
The only wrench in the works is the Gurubashi Arena. You can find this arena in Stranglethorn Vale, and for those that haven’t visited before, there is a unique aspect to this area. The Gurubashi Arena is a free-for-all. Anyone can attack anyone else that isn’t in their group, potentially sabotaging your attempts at pitying your dummy.
The Arathi Basin Blacksmith will require you to queue for Arathi Basin and make your way over to the Blacksmith. Once you’ve completed this step, try to stick around and contribute to the Battleground, don’t sink your team over an achievement! Wintergrasp can be also done easily, you can knock this one out on your way to do your weekly Vault of Archavon run if you’d like.
Unbox a lovely-black-dress from a lovely-dress-box. These boxes can be purchased for 20 love-tokens from the Lovely Merchants found in all capital cities. Each box contains one dress, with a low chance of it being the lovely-black-dress. This will likely cost more love-tokens than any other achievement during this event, but it is not a part of the meta achievement, so you can skip it if you don’t care about achievement points.
Obtain the Peddlefeet mini-pet by purchasing a truesilver-shafted-arrow for 40 love-tokens from the Lovely Merchant in any capital city. Very simple, even if it is a little bit weird that you bought a Goblin from a Goblin.
Defeat the Crown Chemical Co. Apothecary bosses in Shadowfang Keep. You can find more on this fight and the quest chain leading up to it in our Love is in the Air Event Guide.
this guide has a bug in it !!!
you cant do Flirt With Disaster with Perfume
you must buy prfume from the event vendor only
Thank you this has been corrected!
