The daily quests available in the Grizzly Hills are almost exclusively PvP quests, and many offer Reputation for Valiance Expedition (Alliance) or Warsong Offensive (Horde) in addition to a decent chunk of XP and gold. Notably, the only daily that grants Horde Expedition rep specifically is found in the Grizzly Hills. You also get Venture Coins for many of the quests here, which can be used to buy a variety of items, some of which are BiS contenders.

You can spend Venture Coins at your faction’s vendor on the Venture Bay Lighthouse island, in the southwest corner of the Grizzly Hills map. It’s only possible to access your vendor when your faction has control of the lighthouse, so you may have to engage in some PvP if you want to shop (or just come back later).

There are a decent number of options in terms of items you can buy with Venture Coins, though as usual, many aren’t particularly useful unless you’re seriously in need of competitive gear. However, there are a handful of items that are considered Best-in-Slot, or at least can serve as upgrades.

Walkthroughs – Alliance Daily Quests

The following quests are all PvP; completing all 9 PvP quests in the Grizzly Hills will earn you the Grizzled Veteran achievement. An attempt has been made to organize these quests in such a way that backtracking is minimized. but depending on which direction you enter Grizzly Hills from, you may want to start with a different group of quests. Whatever path you take, make sure you’re grabbing all the PvP quests in each area and doing them all at once.

Alliance PvP Quest

  • Quest Giver – Sergeant Hartsman (39.4) in the Blue Sky Logging Grounds
  • Prerequisites – Level 73
  • Objective – Defeat 15 Horde units or players at Blue Sky Logging Grounds
  • Rewards
    • 20,750 XP
    • 5gold 60silver (15gold 56silver at level 80)

This is a straightforward quest, but note that you’ll be flagged for PvP while it’s in your log.

Head southeast downhill and to the central island between the two rivers — PvP/PvE until you’ve killed 15 Alliance players or mobs.

Alliance PvP Quest

The shredder parts in this quest are found in the same area you’ll be killing stuff for Kick ‘Em While They’re Down, and also flags you for PvP.

Start on the northeastern side of the red-roofed sawmill, and work your way southwest — parts can only be found on land in between the two rivers.

Alliance PvP Quest

  • Quest Giver – Synipus in the Blue Sky Logging Grounds
  • Prerequisites – Level 73
  • Objective – Deliver three Shredders to Synipus
  • Rewards

This quest can be challenging if there are lots of enemy players around, otherwise it’s more tedious than anything — also flags you for PvP.

After accepting the quest, head across the river and grab the shredder that spawned when you accepted the quest — they can spawn in two locations, either in front of the sawmill or straight ahead after crossing the bridge. As soon as you hop in, you’ll want to turn back the way you came, quickly hit your ‘2’ key, and run back towards your base camp (where the quest giver is) and press ‘5’ to turn the shredder in. You can also press ‘1’ to Blind nearby enemies when you hop in, which can be helpful given how squishy the Broken-down Shredders are.

Alliance PvP Quest

  • Quest Giver – Rheanna, by the tent a little east-northeast of the other quest givers
  • Prerequisites – Level 73
  • Objective – Heal 10 Westfall Infantry
  • Rewards
    • 20,750 XP
    • 5gold 60silver (15gold 56silver at level 80)

The fourth and final quest that can be done at the Blue Sky Logging Grounds — flags you for PvP like the other three.

Another straightforward quest, just look for Wounded Westfall Infantry throughout the land between the two rivers west of the quest giver. Get close to the wounded infantry and then use the Renewing Bandage you received from the quest giver.

wounded westfall infantry

Alliance PvP Quest

  • Quest Giver – Scout Captain Carter, west of Amberpine Lodge
  • Prerequisites – Level 73
  • Objective – Defeat 10 Horde units or players at the Blackriver Logging Camp
  • Rewards
    • 20,750 XP
    • 5gold 60silver (15gold 56silver at level 80)

Another straightforward PvP quest at yet another logging camp that you can complete with PvE — you’ll be flagged for PvP upon accepting the quest, however.

The quest giver can be a bit tricky to find, since she’s down the winding trail that leads downhill and west from Amberpine Lodge. Once you pick up the quest, just head southwest across the river to the Blackriver Logging Camp and kill 10 Horde units (or players). The easiest mobs to kill for this quest are the Conquest Hold Raiders.

Alliance PvP Quest

Fairly easy despite the 3 suggested players flags you for PvP.

After accepting the quest, head west to the docks at Venture Bay, and find Captain Zorna in the tent just past the Horde ship. If you’re on a character that’s good at soloing tough enemies, you should be able to do this quest even at level 73. Otherwise, you may need a friend, or to be a few levels higher.

Alliance PvP Quest

  • Quest Giver – Lieutenant Stuart, found near the giant shredder on the island east of Venture Bay
  • Prerequisites – Level 73
  • Objective – Kill 10 Horde units or players in Venture Bay
  • Rewards
    • 20,750 XP

The second PvP quest in the area; simple and straightforward.

Easily done while on your way to kill Captain Zorna. Conquest Hold Berserkers are probably the best mob to kill for this quest (assuming you don’t want to go after players).

Alliance PvP Quest

  • Quest Giver – Sergeant Downey, found on the island east of Venture Bay, by the rocks near the giant shredder
  • Prerequisites – Level 73
  • Objective – Smoke out 20 Venture Company Stragglers
  • Rewards
    • 20,750 XP

As long as you can avoid enemy players, this quest isn’t too difficult.

After accepting the quest, head west to any of the buildings indicated below and pull the Venture Co Straggler mobs any way you like — on a tankier character, or if high enough level, you can just run into a building, aggro everything, and throw a Smoke Bomb at your feet. If you have a flying mount and want to avoid PvP, you can land on the roof of one of the buildings, zoom out, and throw the bombs into the building from the roof.

Alliance PvP Quest

  • Quest Giver – Commander Howser, found in front of the Venture Bay Lighthouse
  • Prerequisites – Level 73, Venture Bay Lighthouse (the island in the middle of the bay) under Alliance control
  • Objective – Destroy the Horde Lumberboat
  • Rewards

This quest is well worth doing if your faction has control of the Lighthouse, as it should only take a few minutes.

This quest is only available while the island with the lighthouse is under Alliance control, and given how long it takes to capture the island, probably isn’t worth doing if your faction doesn’t already have control of it. If they do, however, this is a quick and easy quest — assuming you can steer a rocket.

After picking up the quest, go to the goblin boat at (16, 81) and grab the Element 115 from inside the ship — you can ignore the hostile mobs on the boat’s deck and make your way to the back of the cabin, where you’ll find the container with the Element 115. Then head back to the island and lighthouse, and continue past the right side of the lighthouse to the end of the pier, where you’ll find some red rockets.

Hop on and ride it out of the bay a bit, then make most of a right-hand U-turn, until you’re heading northwest towards the Horde lumber boat. You’ll be knocked off of the rocket if you hit any floating ice, so err on the side of caution and take the clearest path possible.

Available to Horde and Alliance

  • Quest Giver – Mack Fearsen, found in Granite Springs at (16.7, 48.3)
  • Prerequisites – Level 70, Scourgekabob (which is part of a chain)
  • Objective – Burn 30 Famished Scourge Trolls using Mack’s Dark Grog
  • Rewards
    • 20,300XP
    • 5gold (9gold 86silver at level 80)

Depending on your class, this can be a very easy quest or else require a bit of effort (and good aim).

After picking up the quest from Mack Fearsen in Granite Springs, you’ll need to head north, all the way to the entrance of Drak’tharon Keep. Once there, make your way up onto the left side of the stairs near 17, 28 (see image below), and then start throwing Mack’s grog down onto the Famished Scourge Trolls below. They look a bit like zombies, and emit a green mist.

If you’re a mage, you can try to pull a group of them together while mounted, then cast frost nova, and follow it up by using the grog on them. If you have a pet, that’s another good way to get them to clump up a bit.

Walkthroughs – Horde Daily Quests

The following quests are all PvP except for Seared Scourge; completing all 9 PvP quests in the Grizzly Hills will earn you the Grizzled Veteran achievement. An attempt has been made to organize these quests in such a way that traveling time is minimized, but depending on which direction you enter Grizzly Hills from, you may want to start with a different group of quests. Whatever path you take, make sure you’re grabbing all the PvP quests in each area and doing them all at once.

Horde PvP Quest

  • Quest Giver – Commander Bargok, found in the northwest of the Blue Sky Logging Grounds, on the high ground near the western water pump
  • Prerequisites – Level 73
  • Objective – Defeat 15 Alliance units or players at Blue Sky Logging Grounds
  • Rewards
    • 20,750 XP
    • 5gold 60silver (15gold 56silver at level 80)

Straightforward PvP/PvE quest — will flag you for PvP when accepted.

Head down the hill to the island in the center of the two rivers and kill 15 Alliance mobs or players — that’s it!

Horde PvP Quest

The shredder parts in this quest are found in the same area you’ll be killing stuff for Keep ‘Em On Their Heels, and also flags you for PvP.

Start on the northeastern side of the red-roofed sawmill, and work your way southwest — parts can only be found on land in between the two rivers.

Horde PvP Quest

  • Quest Giver – Grekk, found near the other quest-giving NPCs at the Horde Base Camp in the northwest of Blue Sky Logging Grounds
  • Prerequisites – Level 73
  • Objective – Return three Broken-down Shredders to Grekk
  • Rewards

This quest can be challenging if there are lots of enemy players around, otherwise it’s more tedious than anything — also flags you for PvP.

After accepting the quest, head across the river and grab the shredder that spawned when you accepted the quest — they can spawn in two locations, either in front of the sawmill or near the bridge that leads to the Alliance base camp. As soon as you hop in, you’ll want to turn back the way you came, quickly hit your ‘2’ key, and run back towards your base camp (where the quest giver is). Horde PvP Quest

  • Quest Giver – Aumana, found just west of the other quest-giving NPCs at the Horde Base Camp in the northwest of Blue Sky Logging Grounds, surrounded by corpses
  • Prerequisites – Level 73
  • Objective – Heal 10 Wounded Skirmishers
  • Rewards
    • 20,750XP

The fourth and final quest that can be done at the Blue Sky Logging Grounds — flags you for PvP like the other three.

Look for Wounded Skirmishers throughout the land between the two rivers, same place you’re picking up shredder parts and killing mobs. Once you find one, get close and use the Renewing Tourniquet you got from the quest giver.

Horde PvP Quest

  • Quest Giver – Raider Captain Kronn, found on the west bank of the river, west of the southern tip of the Blackriver Logging Camp island
  • Prerequisites – Level 73
  • Objective – Defeat 10 Alliance units or players at the Blackriver Logging Camp
  • Rewards
    • 20,750 XP
    • 5gold 60silver (15gold 56silver at level 80)

Another straightforward PvP quest you can complete with PvE — you’ll be flagged for PvP upon grabbing the quest.

The quest giver is conveniently located for this one — once you grab the quest, it’s a very short swim northeast across the river to where the mobs are for this quest. You can kill the Amberpine Scouts found on and near the logging camp island to complete this one.

Horde PvP Quest

  • Quest Giver – General Khazgar, found west-northwest of the Venture Bay docks, in the westernmost sawmill near the Horde lumber boat
  • Prerequisites – Level 73
  • Objective – Kill Captain Brightwater
  • Rewards
    • 20,750 XP
    • 5gold 60silver (15gold 56silver at level 80)

Fairly easy despite the 3 suggested players flags you for PvP.

Captain Brightwater is found on the easternmost ship on the Venture Bay docks, on the deck near the rear cabin. He can be pulled away from the rest of the mobs on the deck. Many specs can solo him at level 73-75, but it never hurts to bring a friend, since you may run into hostile Alliance players while fighting Brightwater.

Horde PvP Quest

  • Quest Giver – Centurion Kaggrum, found west-northwest of the Venture Bay docks, in the westernmost sawmill near the Horde lumber boat
  • Prerequisites –
  • Objective – Kill 10 Alliance units or players in Venture Bay
  • Rewards
    • 20,750 XP
    • 5gold 60silver (15gold 56silver at level 80)

Simple quest, easily done while completing the other dailies in Venture Bay.

You can do this while on your way to kill Captain Brightwater — you can go after players or just kill the Westfall Brigade Marines found on and around the docks.

Horde PvP Quest

  • Quest Giver – Stone Guard Ragetotem, found in front of the log lift by the westernmost sawmill in Venture Bay
  • Prerequisites – Level 73
  • Objective –
  • Rewards
    • 20,750 XP
    • 5gold 60silver (15gold 56silver at level 80)

A quest that is PvE in terms of objectives, but nevertheless flags you for PvP once picked up.

After accepting the quest, head east to any of the buildings indicated below and pull the Venture Co Straggler mobs any way you like — on a tankier character, or if high enough level, you can just run into a building, aggro everything, and throw a Smoke Bomb at your feet. If you have a flying mount and want to avoid PvP, you can land on the roof of one of the buildings, zoom out, and throw the bombs into the building from the roof.

Horde PvP Quest

  • Quest Giver – General Gorlok, found in front of the Venture Bay Lighthouse
  • Prerequisites – Level 73, Venture Bay Lighthouse (the island in the middle of the bay) under Horde control
  • Objective – Destroy the Horde Lumberboat
  • Rewards –

This quest is well worth doing if your faction has control of the Lighthouse, as it should only take a few minutes.

After picking up the quest, go to the goblin boat at (16, 81) — it’s the middle ship of the three — and grab the Element 115 from inside the ship. You can ignore the hostile mobs on the boat and go through the doorway to the back of the cabin, where you’ll find the container with the Element 115. Then head back to the island and lighthouse, and continue past the right side of the lighthouse to the end of the pier, where you’ll find some red rockets.

Hop on and ride it out of the bay a bit, then make most of a left-hand U-turn, until you’re heading northeast towards the Alliance lumber boat. You’ll be knocked off of the rocket if you hit any floating ice, so err on the side of caution and take the clearest path possible.
