PvP Restoration Druid Stat Priority

wotlk pvp restoration druid stat priority

In this section we will be covering the stat priority list for a Restoration Druid as it applies to PvP combat in Wrath of the Lich King!

  1. Resilience
  2. Spell Penetration
  3. Hit Rating
  4. Spellpower
  5. MP5
  6. Spirit

For Player-versus-Player content, Resilience is the most important stat that you can acquire: it protects you from critical strikes and it reduces the overall damage you receive. You will want to stack as much Resilience as possible when playing a Restoration Druid since you only have so much in the way of defending yourself. You should aim to reach 1500 Resilience.

Spell Penetration is a must-have stat for any caster class – yes, even for us healers. The Spell Penetration cap is 130, but the soft cap you should strive for is 75. You will need Spell Penetration to prevent your enemies from resisting spells like the Cyclone.

Hit Rating should always be above 4% to avoid missing when casting your spells.

Spellpower works the same way it does for PvE scenarios: it empowers your spells, making them more destructive or granting them greater healing effects. The principle is literally the same – the more you have of it, the merrier.

MP5 (or MP/5, mana per 5 seconds) is one of the most important stats you can acquire as a healer. While playing this class you will often find yourself spamming your abilities to keep your allies alive (as well as yourself). This can leave you OoM (Out of Mana) pretty fast. MP5 will be the stat that can help you address this problem – you should aim to have between 650 and 700 MP5 for this build.

Spirit allows you to have some additional mana regeneration while in combat, so you should try to stack as much of it as possible without gemming the stat.
