Welcome to Warcraft Tavern’s Reputation Guide for the Horde Expedition faction in Wrath of the Lich King Classic! In this guide, we’ll explain all of the ways you can gain reputation with this faction, and go over how it relates to its sub-factions. We’ll also cover the best way to reach Exalted with this faction.
How to Reach Exalted with the Horde Expedition
The Horde Expedition (like its Alliance equivalent the Alliance Vanguard) is a unique faction in that it really serves as an umbrella faction for its four sub-factions. Unlike the Alliance Vanguard, it’s actually possible to earn some Horde Expedition rep directly via quests. This won’t be the primary way you gain Horde Expedition rep, however. Instead, most of your rep will be gained by earning rep with the expedition’s four sub-factions:
Reputation gained with any of the four sub-factions will also grant 50% of that rep to your Horde Expedition reputation. For details on how to gain rep with the sub-factions, click a sub-faction from the list above.
There are a decent number of Warsong Offensive dailies that will grant spillover rep with Horde Expedition, and there is also one daily — Blackriver Brawl — that grants 250 Horde Expedition Rep. These dailies are found in Grizzly Hills and Icecrown. If you need them, we’ve got walkthroughs for all of the daily quests, including the aforementioned dailies.
In addition to doing quests for the Horde Expedition and its sub-factions, the other way you can gain Horde Expedition rep is by running Heroic Instances without a tabard on — mob kills in these dungeons will grant Horde Expedition rep (as well as spillover rep with the sub-factions). (H)Utgarde Keep and (H)Utgarde Pinnacle, or (H)Azjol-Nerub and (H)Ahn’kahet: The Old Kingdom are both excellent choices. These pairs of dungeons are easy to clear, and each pair has entrances near each other (to save travel time). Optionally, you can also avoid killing the bosses and then exit/re-enter the instances after killing the trash in order to earn even more rep each day.
You can run the four level 80 non-heroic dungeons as well, but they grant significantly less rep, and therefore aren’t a good choice if you’re grinding to Exalted.
Who Needs Horde Expedition Rep?
The gear sold by the Horde Expedition isn’t especially powerful, and better gear can be obtained at lower levels. The only group this rep is a must-have for is engineers, who want to ride in style with the Mechano-Hog. If you choose to purchase your flying skill/mount with the Horde Expedition you can get a discount depending on your rep; this is useful if you don’t have much Orgrimmar rep. Blacksmiths can buy the recipe for Titanium Plating, which will be sought after by warriors and paladins, for PvE and PvP purposes.
- Engineers will be looking for this recipe, especially early on. This is the first two-seated mount introduced in the game, so it will be highly sought after. This recipe is available at Exalted.
- Recipe: Titanium Plating
- This is a good economy item for Blacksmiths to sell on the auction house, as this will be one of the best options for tank’s shield enchantment.
- The Winds of the North– Gain Exalted with Horde Expedition.
- 40 Exalted Reputations – Horde Expedition and its four sub-factions all count toward this achievement.
Horde Expedition Quests
The following quests all grant Horde Expedition reputation — of particular note is the daily, Blackriver Brawl. Click a zone to see the complete list of Horde Expedition quests in that area.
Horde Expedition Faction Rewards
You’ll need to reach at least Revered to start purchasing items from the Horde Expedition. There are two Horde Expedition quartermasters — both sell the same items.
- Borean Tundra – Gara Skullcrush (41.4, 53.7), found in Warsong Hold, on the top floor below the zeppelin dock (across from the huge statue)
- Howling Fjord – Sebastian Crane (79.6, 30.8), found at Vengeance Landing, on the second floor of the inn
