Blizzard has posted another round of evening hotfixes for Season of Discovery, this time tackling some issues with Mage Healers as well as some changes to the Battle for Ashenvale.

Mages have received adjustments to several of their healing abilities, including an expanded range on Mass Regeneration, which was increased from 15 yards to 30. Regeneration and Mass Regeneration have also been corrected to consume/reset Arcane Blast as intended. The Temporal Beacon buff will now proc from Arcane wands, allowing you to continue healing even when OOM. Finally, Living Flame will stop spreading damage when the rune is no longer equipped. All told, these changes should amount to a small buff for Mage Healers.

Shamans also saw a fix to their Healing Rain spell, which was previously interrupting the caster’s swing timer every time it healed.

In Ashenvale, the faction generals will now spawn inside their respective faction’s main hub in the zone when the battle is not active. This will allow players to turn in quest items to them. Alliance players will find Priestess of the Moon Felore Moonray inside the inn in Astranaar, and Horde players will find Far Seer Kazragore inside the inn at Splintertree Post. When the battle starts, they’ll despawn in these locations and reappear in their usual spots in the faction Headquarters camps. There was also a fix to the battle being incorrectly reset based on battles ending in different layers.

Season of Discovery

  • Healing Rain will no longer interrupt the auto-attack swing timer of the casting Shaman every time it heals.
  • Living Flame will now cease to spread and deal damage if the Mage caster no longer has the rune equipped.
  • Regeneration and Mass Regeneration will now properly consume Arcane Blast when they benefit from it, regardless of the Mage’s healing targets.
  • Mage Temporal Beacon will now also heal based on damage done by Arcane wands.
  • The radius of healing for Mass Regeneration has been increased to 30 yards (was 15 yards).
  • Battle for Ashenvale
    • The Priestess of the Moon Felore Moonray and Far Seer Kazragore are now spawned in Ashenvale while the Battle for Ashenvale is inactive, and are available to turn in quest items. Felore Moonray can be found in the inn in Astranaar, and Kazragore can be found in the inn in Splintertree Post. During the battle, they will move to their respective battlefield positions.
    • [With realm restarts] Fixed an issue where progress for the Battle for Ashenvale could be reset repeatedly by battles ending at different times on different layers.
