Season of Discovery is changing the way we play vanilla WoW with new level caps. The level cap for Phase 2 is 40. For professions, that means you’ll be gathering and crafting different items than you would at level 60.
To train a profession past 225 skill level in Season of Discovery, you must be at least level 41. So professions in Phase 2 will be capped at the Expert level. This is a change from vanilla WoW to space out profession progress across the phases. It also won’t be possible to complete mastery questlines yet, including the specialization questlines for Blacksmithing, Engineering, or Leatherworking.
