  • Expansion: WoW Classic

Season of Discovery changes up the Classic WoW meta with lower level caps, which also limits what items you can craft and use. For the Engineering profession, that means you’ll be crafting a lot of lower level recipes that are normally reserved for leveling and twink characters.

Engineering Leveling & Trainers

Check out our Classic Engineering Guide for trainer locations, a leveling guide, and more.

Phase 1 Engineering Schematics

Phase 1 of Season of Discovery comes with a level cap of 25, and a level 26 requirement for Expert skills. That means the maximum skill you can reach with professions is Journeyman, or skill level 150. The exception is Gnomes who get the Engineering Specialization racial ability, allowing them to reach a skill level of 165.

Engineering has always offered some of the best items for low-level characters in WoW Classic, as evidenced by its popularity among twinks. But you won’t be able to complete the Gnomish or Goblin engineering quests until Phase 3, so those schematics are off the table for the time being.

Here are the significant items you’ll be able to craft with Engineering in Phase 1, broken down by type.

We’ve also seen a new Engineering schematic in the game files, but we don’t know its purpose yet or if it will make it into the game:
