How to Farm Shredder Turbochargers in Season of Discovery

Shredder Turbochargers are one of three items added in Season of Discovery that need to be turned in to Grizzby, the Goblin in Ratchets Inn, to unlock a Rune for each class. Getting these requires you to use a Shredder Autosalvage Unit on a Venture Co. Light Shredder found in Stonetalon Mountains. Alliance players can also use Shredder Autosalvage Units on Warsong Shredders in Ashenvale, but these Shredders are friendly to Horde and not nearly as numerous as Venture Co. Shredders.

How to get Shredder Autosalvage Units

Shredder Autosalvage Units are crafted by Engineers using a Schematic: Shredder Autosalvage Unit, dropped by Sneed in the Deadmines. Rogues can also (rarely) pickpocket Shredder Autosalvage Units from Venture Co. Operators in the area.

Each Shredder Autosalvage Unit is a one-time use item and takes the following to craft:

1 Bronze Framework
- 2 Bronze Bars
  - 1 Copper Bar
  - 1 Tin Bar
- 1 Medium Leather
- 1 Wool Cloth
2 Whirring Bronze Gizmo
- 4 Bronze Bars
  - 2 Copper Bars
  - 2 Tin Bars
- 2 Wool Cloth
1 Heavy Leather
- 5 Medium Leather

Unfortunately, Shredder Turbochargers are not guaranteed, so you may end up needing significantly more Shredder Autosalvage Units than you would expect. The drop rate seems to fall somewhere around 50-60%. I recommend bringing at least 24 Shredder Autosalvage Units with you to avoid making repeat trips. Excess Shredder Autosalvage Units or Shredder Turbochargers can always be sold on the Auction House later.
