Enchanting Guide for Season of Discovery (SoD) Phase 5

Enchanting Guide for Season of Discovery (SoD)

Phase 5 of Season of Discovery retains the 300 skill cap introduced in Phase 3 for professions, allowing players to max out their crafting and gathering skills in case they haven’t already done so. For the Enchanting profession, that means you’ll be able to perform any enchantment, as well as a few new ones that have been added for this season.

Enchanting Leveling & Trainers

Check out our Classic Enchanting Guide for trainer locations, a leveling guide, and more. Everything in that guide applies to Season of Discovery except for the level requirements for higher skill ranks (level 26 for Expert and level 41 for Artisan). There are some new recipes that are exclusive to Season of Discovery which we’ll cover in this guide, but they aren’t needed for leveling.

Learning Artisan Enchanting

From Phase 3 onward, players were able to level their professions all the way to 300 skill, or Artisan level – the maximum skill for Vanilla WoW.

Artisan Enchanting can only be learned from one specific trainer:

You may want to consider bringing the materials to level to at least 250 when you visit her so you don’t have to keep going back to learn all of her formulas.

New Enchanting Formulas for Season of Discovery

Phase 5 only adds two new enchants from the Zandalar Tribe which were also available in the Vanilla WoW version of the game.

Phase 4 brings three new formulas while unlocking most high-end enchants by allowing players to reach level 60!

Phase 3 has added two new formulas for Enchanters:

In Phase 2, we saw three brand new recipes:

One new Enchanting recipe was added to the game for Phase 1:

Phase 5 Enchanting Materials

When disenchanting items, you have a chance to receive dust, essence, or shard materials based on the type of item you are disenchanting:

  • Uncommon (green) armor: 75% dust / 20% essence / 5% shard
  • Uncommon (green) weapon: 75% essence / 20% dust / 5% shard
  • Rare (blue) items: 100% shard

The exact materials you get depend on the item level of the piece you are disenchanting.

I’m pretty sure these are available P3, just locked behind rep grind for Timbermaw.

Strangely enough, even though those are Timbermaw rep recipes, they weren’t added to the game until Phase 3 of Vanilla WoW, which was the BWL patch. Weird Vanilla things!

The exact materials you get depend on the item level of the piece you are disenchanting. Here is a table showing where you can get all of the enchanting materials that are used in Phase 1:

this information is incorrect I don’t have all the gold to test every level, but Grunt Axe of Power item lvl 21 just gave me greater magic essence it requires lvl 16 to equip so its not by equip lvl either
