Phase 3 of Season of Discovery brings the skill cap for professions to 300, allowing players to max out all of their crafting and gathering skills. For the Leatherworking profession, that means you’ll be able to stitch together most of the patterns in the game.
Leatherworking Leveling & Trainers
Check out our SoD Leatherworking Leveling Guide for a step-by-step walkthrough for leveling the Leatherworking profession!
Learning Artisan Leatherworking
From Phase 3 on, players will be able to level their professions all the way to 300 skill, or Artisan level – the maximum skill for Vanilla WoW.
Artisan Leatherworking can only be learned from these specific trainers:
- Drakk Stonehand at Aerie Peak in The Hinterlands (13.4, 43.5)
- Hahrana Ironhide at Camp Mojache in Feralas (74.4, 43.1)
Leatherworking Specializations
Along with Artisan Leatherworking, you can now choose one of the following specializations in Season of Discovery:
- Dragonscale Leatherworking focuses on mail armor
- Elemental Leatherworking focuses on leather Agility armor and elemental resistance armor
- Tribal Leatherworking focuses on leather Intellect and Agility armor
For a complete breakdown of what each specialization offers and a walkthrough for completing the quests, check out our Leatherworking Specializations Guide.
New Leatherworking Patterns for Season of Discovery
Phase 3 brings six new crafted shoulder items to the game for Leatherworking:

- Membrane of Dark Neurosis

- Shoulderpads of Obsession

- Wailing Chain Mantle
In Phase 2, five new patterns were added – one crafting component and four helms:
- Faintly Glowing Leather
- Gneuro-Conductive Channeler’s Hood
- Glowing Gneuro-Linked Cowl
- Glowing Hyperconductive Scale Coif
- Rad-Resistant Scale Hood
There were two new glove patterns added to the game for Phase 1:
Phase 3 Leatherworking Patterns
Here are the best Leatherworking patterns you can craft in Phase 3 of Season of Discovery. We’ve left out anything that requires higher level content to learn or a level higher than 50 to equip. There are still quite a lot of patterns to collect in Phase 4!
The six new shoulder pieces are the best endgame items you can craft with Leatherworking in Phase 3. Wild Leather items can be valuable if you proc good stats on them. There are a few other items that could see some niche use, particularly for characters who haven’t acquired better gear from dungeons and raids. Wolfshead Helm is also very much in demand for Feral Druids, but it requires the Tribal Leatherworking specialization to craft.

not much of a guide..
First paragraph has a link to the guide.
“Check out our Classic Leatherworking Guide for trainer locations, a leveling guide, and more. “
You cannot get the Wild Leather patterns from Jangdor Swiftstrider in Camp Mojache!!!! Don’t be like me and head over there with 10 thick leather and all the leather working gear required because there is no option to turn in those items. I guess in the very beginning of phase 2 Blizzard made the Wild Leather patterns available from Jangdor but they took it away.
“Feral Druids will be disappointed to learn that the recipe for Wolfshead Helm is locked behind the Tribal Leatherworking quests.”
who the fuk wants a +10 spirit helm as feral?
You want it for the 20 energy it refunds. It’s BiS throughout classic and TBC.
