How to Get the Improved Barkskin Rune

Tanaris (Contested Zone)

To get the Improved Barkskin rune, you’ll need to be at least level 44.

Travel to Tanaris and kill the following elementals in the Zone for a chance to drop the Idol of the Raging Shambler:

Equip the idol when you get it. You’ll then need to kill 5 enemies with Nature damage while affected by Barkskin; afterward, you’ll be able to consume the totem to get your rune.
