This guide will cover how to get the Penance rune for Priests in Season of Discovery. We’ll go over all of the locations and requirements in the walkthrough below as well as any useful tips and tricks.

How to Get the Penance Rune

This is the first rune you’ll be able to pick up, and you’ll do so through a quest in your race’s starting zone. Unlike other Priest runes, this rune can only be obtained in your race’s starting zone. You won’t be able to complete the quest in other starting zones.

To obtain the Penance rune, you must first reach level 2. Then you’ll be able to pick up the quest Hallowed Rune from Sten Stoutarm at Coldridge Valley in Dun Morogh. This quest is optional and will send you up the hill to Anvilmar to see your Priest Trainer, Branstock Khalder (28.6, 66.4).

Branstock Khalder offers the quest Meditation on the Light. Once you have the quest, head southwest to the Trogg camp, where you’ll find a Rockjaw Footlocker at (26.7, 72.6). Loot the Memory of a Troubled Acolyte from this chest, then return to Anvilmar and go back to the room where you found Branstock.

Using this item requires a Priest Meditation. To get yours, kneel at the nearby Altar of the Light by typing /kneel in chat and hitting enter. Wait a moment to get the Meditation on the Light buff, then right-click the item you got earlier to learn the rune. You can then open your character window and click on the rune in the right pane and click on the gloves you want to apply it to. Penance will appear in your Spellbook and can be used like any other ability.

To obtain the Penance rune, you must first reach level 2. Then you’ll be able to pick up the quest Meditation on the Light from Priestess Anetta at Northshire Abbey in Elwynn Forest (49.8, 39.5). Just hug the left wall after you enter, go past the stairs, and you’ll find her in the back of the library.

Once you have the Meditation on the Light buff, you can right-click the Memory in your inventory to learn the rune. You can then open your character window and click on the rune in the right pane and click on the gloves you want to apply it to. Penance will appear in your Spellbook and can be used like any other ability.

To obtain the Penance rune, you must first reach level 2. Then you’ll be able to pick up the Meditation on Elune quest from Shandra, the Priest Trainer on the top floor of the big building in Shadowglen in Teldrassil (59.2, 40.4).

You have to kneel for like 10 seconds, and it will give you a 4 hour buff.
