World Record DPS Explanation – World of Warcraft

Today, we are looking at some of the many ways players top damage in World of Warcraft within their respective class. If you are not familiar with my content, I like to push World of Warcraft to its absolute limits in order to reveal the many beautiful facets it has to offer.

Hi, my name is Caperfin and welcome to my expose on the highest damage a class can deal in World of Warcraft but more precisely shed some light on how exactly its done! Recently, the topic of getting number one on the damage per second meter was brought up and people wanted to know why there’s always this one person defying the laws of how much dps their class can conventionally do or simply a wide margin between number one and number two spots. I will be sharing some of the many actions players perform to dish out absurd amounts of damage.
Before continuing, bosses who take additional damage from certain magic types or have adds next to them will not be considered. Also, very obvious damage increasers like Power Infusion will not be mentioned but rather a focus on more fringe unknown rarely talked about aspects the top 1% do to maximise dps for the purpose of pushing class record DPS when a raid is on farm and players can be left to their own devices. What will be mentioned might be deemed by some as unrealistic consider this a min-maxer’s dream. By no means am I telling others how to play, this is more of a neat fun entertainment thing.
Druid
Let us begin with Druids, in terms of a Balance druid, if a caster in the party has Atiesh the balance druid can actually forgo acquiring Monkin Form and opt in to get Nature’s Swiftness instead, Nature’s Swiftness can be used to sneak in a Wrath, while running from one spot to another due to a raid boss mechanic. Next, is casting rank 1 Regrowth on allies either before a fight or pauses during a boss fight to trigger Nature’s Grace.
Let’s move onto Feral druids, they can equip and use the item Manual Crowd Pummeler which has been calculated over the past year as the BIS weapon for them. Are feral druids still not attacking fast enough for you? Well top players push it even further by getting the Bloodlust buff by mind controlling a Spirestone Battle Mage in Dire Maul. Alliance Feral Druids have the added advantage of having Fishliver Oil. STILL NOT fast enough for you? Warrior tanks who are off-tanking can equip the Blackblade of Shahram in the hopes of triggering the haste effect: Fist of Shahram
Hunter
Now for hunters, it has rarely been done but melee hunters can not only do very good DPS but also out damage ranged hunters if given the proper amount of dedication and since were all about maximising our damage, it should be here. I will try to keep it simple since I already made a video. Players looking to extract as much damage as possible will also get the Bloodlust on themselves and their pet.
Let’s look at ranged hunters now. A top charting ranged Hunter is most likely being aided by 1-2 hunters who are in charge of applying the Expose Weakness and the designated hunter will take advantage of this moment to bolster their own DPS. A Hunter can also use the Feign Death to equip different gear, for example a trinket.
Mage
You’ve always heard of mages doing a lot of DPS but why is the difference between one mage and another 600 DPS? Chances are the rolling Ignite bug is being performed. But this is a bug and people frown upon it and in some cases consider an exploit. So let’s put it aside and look at the second biggest damage increasing effect: Flame Buffet that originates from Arcanite Dragonling.
Moving forward I will not be repeating: items, buffs, debuffs that were previously mentioned. It is generally assumed they are applied to other classes wherever relevant. (ex: Melee classes= Bloodlust)
Paladin
Let’s look at paladins. The last few months a retribution talented paladin has fallen out of popularity since the discovery of Spelladin, which statistically performs more DPS than any other spec and has peaked everyone curiosity — especially with the application of the Judgement of the crusader debuff on the boss. Although, I said I wouldn’t account for a bosses’ creature type, a Paladin’s DPS skyrocket’s when fighting undead since they can use Holy Mightstone, and putting the majority of points in Holy of all specs will generate the most damage for these type of bosses. All of this damage can be increased by a fellow paladin who is gracious enough to pick up the Sanctity Aura talent.
Priest
See a priest very high on the DPS meter and out dpsing shadow priests regularly? they are most likely Discipline talented or known as a Smite Priest. This will comes as a shock, but yes you put points in the Discipline and Holy talent tree. Naturally, this is later on in the game around AQ, but like I said earlier were looking at the maximum potential of each class.
Rogue
Rogues are next and at this point of high efficiency our literal casters as they desire spell damage buffs since Shadow Oil scales with it among other debuffs and buffs and out damages a rogue’s normal poisons. They may also be using the Vanish Swap Trick which involves using the ability Vanish to momentarily leave combat and equip different gear this includes trinkets.
Shaman
Let’s explore the totem expert, the shaman. Elemental shamans have their own Mini-game as you try to predict procs ahead of time and pre-cast spells whether it be to save mana or increase damage. Some say its luck, some are actually able to predict it by calculating proc chance (this is VERY complicated), this is where the adults are separated from the children. Although, I said I was not going to mention simple stuff, it shouldn’t be surprising but Stormstrike and Thunderfury are on the boss. Next, There is also a Fire Totem rotation if a bosses has movement forcing mechanics and a priority on Flame Shock in the right scenario.
Enhancement Shamans can acquire the buffs Swift Wind from finishing their Air Totem Quest among using the many other things previously mentioned.
Warrior
Warrior are mostly likely either aggroing a nearby mob to trigger Enrage or having a Doomguard attack them before a boss fight.
Horde
Now for faction only privileges that have not been mentioned yet, the Horde have access to Faintly Glowing Skull which scales with spell damage, shadow related buff, debuffs, potions, etc…
