With Sunwell Plateau having just released, the top speedrunning guilds all got right to racing to be the first to clear the raid by killing Kil’jaeden. Many of the previous phases’ top guilds, such as Old School, Avatar, Progress, Exodus, Calamity, BEEF BAR, Statement and Fusion, participated in the race.
Alas only one can be the winner in this race, and while the competition was very tight, in the end Old School of the Chinese servers were the first to clear Sunwell Plateau, who did so in just 53 minutes! Congratulations, no doubt this must have taken countless hours of practice to pull off this efficiently.
Also a big well done to all of the other guilds that participated! It was very interesting to see all of the cool skips and tricks that people discovered in order to save time, as well as bypass harmful boss mechanics, such as using a Paladin’s Divine Intervention (who has a Master Soulstone) to negate Felmyst’s Encapsulate. It will be great to see how they each keep refining their strats and how short they can get Sunwell Plateau runs down to.
This really a shock, weve cleared this before and have all the knowledge and strategies. This isnt the same as back in the day wiping for weeks on Muru and Kiljaeden. Heck even Kalecgos gave most guilds a hard time, dont even get started with the trash and ccs needed to clear that stuff.
