PvE Enhancement Shaman Stat Priority

pve tbc enhancement shaman stat priority

In this section we will be covering what stats we should prioritize when playing an Enhancement Shaman in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic.

A Quick Note on Stat Conversions

15.77 Hit Rating = 1% Hit Chance

3.94 Expertise Rating = 1 Expertise

22.08 Critical Strike Rating = 1% Critical Strike Chance

1 Strength = 2 Attack Power

1 Agility = 0.04% Critical Strike Chance, 2 Armor, 0.04% Dodge Chance

  1. Hit Rating (Up to 9%)
  2. Expertise
  3. Strength / Attack Power
  4. Critical Strike Rating
  5. Agility
  6. Hit Rating (Past 9%)
  7. Haste Rating

Hit Rating (Up to 9%) – Reaching 9% Hit Chance will eliminate the chance of your special attacks missing your target. Depending on your choice of build, you may receive Nature’s Guidance and Dual Wield Specialization or just Dual Wield Specialization for a 9% or 6%, respectively, boost to your Hit Chance.

Expertise – Expertise reduces the chance that the target will dodge or parry your attacks. While targets cannot parry attacks that come from behind them, they can still dodge those attacks. Because of this, most DPS choose to attack targets from behind to only have to concern themselves with attacks being dodged. To eliminate this, we aim for 6.5% (Which is equivalent to 26 Expertise or approximately 200 Expertise Rating)

Strength / Attack Power – Both stats increase your overall Attack Power, but Strength increases it at a rate of 1:2 (One Strength = 2 Attack Power) This is further improved if a Paladin were to cast Blessing of Kings on you as it increases all of your stats by 10%.

Critical Strike Rating – Critical strikes increase the uptime on Flurry, and increases your overall damage and DPS.

Agility – Agility increases our Critical Strike Chance, chance to dodge, and our armor. Because Enhancement Shamans look to get as much Critical Strike Chance as we can, Agility is a good stat to look out for.

Hit Rating (Past 9%) – Due to dual-wielding, Enhancement Shamans need to reach a total of 28% Hit Chance to eliminate the chance that their auto-attacks will miss.

Haste Rating – This increases the speed in which you attack.
