Below is the traditional stat priority list for Discipline Priests that are focused on healing.
- Plus Healing (Healing Power)
- Spell Critical Strike
Plus Healing (Healing Power) simply put increases the amount that your heals heal for. Many heals have varying conversion rates in regards to how much they benefit from healing power. For example, if we looked at Flash Heal, it benefits from 42.85% of your Healing Power.
Intellect increases your total mana pool at a rate of 1:15 (For every 1 intellect, you receive 15 mana) Intellect also increases your spell critical strike chance. Intellect also increases your mana regeneration using this formula:
(0.001 + Square Root of your Intellect) x (Total Spirit x 0.009327)
So, assuming we have 400 Intellect and 400 Spirit, we would be regenerating 76.60 mana per second. Now, an important note is that this is when you are NOT casting – However, thanks to Meditation, we’re able to benefit from 30% of that amount while casting. We would be able to regenerate 22.98 mana per second while casting from the 76.60. This regeneration ticks every 2 seconds, rather than every second.
Haste does two things for players. The first thing it does is that it increases your casting speed. The second thing is that it reduces the global cooldown, which can be immensely beneficial. However, it should be noted that there is no way to reduce it past 1 second, so, we are able to reduce it down by 0.5 seconds.
Increasing your spell critical strike chance improves the likelihood of your target benefiting from Inspiration, granting them 25% increased armor for 15 seconds, which is always a welcome addition for any tank! However, because of these critical heals being random, and never guaranteed, basing the chances of RNG (Random number generator) it’s not a stat that you should go out of your way to obtain.
