With multiple blue posts today all linked below, there were a few issues that cropped up with the patch released. In addition to the patch we got a surprise permanent implementation of same-faction battlegrounds.
The last we heard about it, there was another test planned but we hadn’t gotten any more feedback from it. The adjustment is permanently added and will occur when opposite-faction matchmaking can’t take place within a certain timeframe. With this change, premades will also be limited to 5 players but they plan for this part to be temporary with more options investigated in the future.
There were a few issues that came with the patch today. The only ones listed involved the guild banks. Only the highest 2 ranks were able to adjust the guild bank settings regardless of what was setup for guild control. Also there was an issue with stacks of items limiting the number of withdrawals per day. Unfortunately there were more issues than mentioned here. See below.
Many people reported that currently most quests that require world interactions to click on environment objects (quest objects for example) are unable to do so. Blizzard is currently working on a hotfix but that fix won’t even resolve all of the issues where this can happen. They will be working on a later hotfix to resolve the entirety of it. They are expecting to have it released within a day or so.
Along with scheduled weekly maintenance in each region, we’re re-enabling same-faction Battlegrounds. A same-faction Battleground will now occur when an opposite-faction match cannot be made after a short time. We currently intend for this system to be in place for the rest of Burning Crusade Classic.
We’re also re-enabling the setting that restricts premade Battleground groups to a maximum of 5 players. We expect this to be a temporary measure. We’re investigating our options, and we’ll let you know more in the future about what our long-term plans are for pre-made Battleground groups.
Thank you very much!
Greetings and welcome to Burning Crusade Classic Patch 2.5.2!
Below is a list of known issues for Burning Crusade Classic patch 2.5.2. Please note that this list is not comprehensive and is not a complete depiction of what we’re aware of, but a sampling of issues we believe players may encounter with some regularity. We hope to have fixes to these issues in place soon, but we cannot promise when or if any individual bug will be fixed.
- Only the highest two ranks in a guild may manipulate Guild Bank tab names and icons, even if the checkbox to modify guild bank tabs is selected for other, lower ranks in the Guild Control panel.
- Swapping stacks of items with another stack of items within a guild bank tab will count as a withdrawl against your daily allowance of withdrawls from that tab.
Thank you for the reports about this. There are several threads going about this and I wanted to take a moment to confirm that a new issue did pop up with patch 2.5.2 that affects many quests that involve clicking game objects to complete an objective. This issue prevents those objectives from being properly credited towards quest completion.
To resolve this, we are preparing a hotfix that we hope to have out very soon that should resolve many of the high-traffic quests in Burning Crusade content that we know are affected, but will not resolve every instance of this issue.
Following this, we are preparing another, larger systemic hotfix which we plan to apply with server restarts in the early morning tomorrow that should resolve any other remaining quest issues.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience as we work through this issue.
