Dragonflight Fury Incarnate PTR Notes – Dragonriding Challenges, Demon Hunter Tweak, Chat Auto-Mod

dragonflight fury incarnate ptr notes dragonriding challenges, demon hunter tweak, chat auto mod

While the length of the notes is rather short this time around, it definitely has some interesting features. First off, it appears they’re experimenting with adding on challenges to Dragonriding to make things more difficult and widen the skill gap. It’s mentioned that these challenges will start with not being able to generate resources in flight – meaning you’ll have to be a lot more strategic about when and where you decide to use your vigor pips.

There’s also a tweak to Vengeance Demon Hunters that changes the “Illidan’s Grasp” ability to be more intuitive. This change should also make things more reactive for players as other actions will break the channel of said ability so you can adapt to your situation more seamlessly.

Lastly, Blizzard is introducing a type of auto-moderated chat feature. It appears that it will attempt to auto-detect harassing or vulgar text and automatically hide the text with the option to click it to see it. If you do decide to click through to see the text there will be a report button available near it to easily block and report the offending player.

Hello everyone. Here are this week’s changes to the Fury Incarnate PTR:

DRAGONRIDING

  • CHALLENGE COURSE
    • As you adventure across the Dragon Isles, test your dragonriding race skills with the new Challenge Course. How well can you fare without resource generation?
    • New Challenge Courses in each zone will unlock weekly, first in the Waking Shores, then Ohn’ahran Plains, the Azure Span, Thaldraszus, the Forbidden Reach, and finally Zaralek Cavern. Once unlocked, each set of courses will remain permanently available.
      • Developers note: Challenge courses are now available in the Waking Shores and Ohn’ahran Plains.

PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER

  • DEMON HUNTER
    • Vengeance
      • Illidan’s Grasp has been redesigned – You strangle the target with demonic magic, stunning them in place and dealing Shadow damage over 5 seconds while the target is grasped. Can move while channeling. Use Illidan’s Grasp again to toss the target to a location within 40 yards, stunning them and all nearby enemies for 3 seconds and dealing Shadow damage.
        • Developers’ note: We’ve updated Illidan’s Grasp to now cancel its channel when other actions are taken and instead deal periodic damage for its duration. We feel this better matches gameplay expectations and is easier to understand.

USER INTERFACE AND ACCESSIBILITY

  • REAL TIME CHAT MODERATION
    • Whispers that may contain harassing chat sent from a player you are not friends with will now be hidden. You will be prompted with a warning message asking if you’d like to see it anyway. If the whisper is revealed, there will be a Report Player option directly in the message so the offending player can be reported easily. This feature can be found in Options > Social > Censor Messages.
  • Increased Party Lead icon size in Dungeon and Raid queue prompts.
