Warbands: New Account-Wide Systems in The War Within

The new expansion, The War Within, which was announced at BlizzCon today, is bringing with it a new system of account-wide features to your characters, collectively referred to as Warbands.

Starting in The War Within, all characters on your Battle.net account will share a new warband bank, achievements, resources, The War Within reputations, and collections, including transmog.

Not only will the appearances you unlock be account-wide, but you will be able to unlock appearances on any character, even if that character can’t use the item. This along with account-wide endgame reputations are big changes that we expect to make the game a lot more alt-friendly. There are no plans yet to make *all* reputations account-wide, however.

In a later Q&A, Morgan Day also stated that there will be a new item type, “Warbound,” for soulbound items that can be shared across your characters. This will allow you to deposit certain soulbound items into your warband bank, but not all. The same Q&A revealed that gold and currency will be shared across your characters, and you’ll be able to store reagants and materials in your warband bank.

Here are some of the features you’ll see for Warbands, including the new account-wide reputation system:
