WoWCast Developer Chat Goes Over Dragonflight Fractures of Time Patch

wowcast developer chat goes over dragonflight fractures of time patch

In this video we see a dev chat going over some of the features of the latest 10.1.5 patch, the technical difficulties, and the story elements they wanted to include.

Going through the video these seem to be major points:

  • The storyline of the Primal Incarnates is meeting that of the Infinite Dragonflight as the two make a devious alliance.
  • The baseline difficulty level of the new mega-dungeon, Dawn of the Infinite, is going to be much tougher than previous mega-dungeons.
  • There’s going to be a big focus on story through this patch and not only tying everything together but also moving the story forward.
  • The mega-dungeon is going to have exclusive cosmetics and transmog options to entice players that aren’t just interested in gear upgrades.
  • Galakrond is going to make a showing, with his fall being one of the storylines you can take part of when visiting the past.
  • The mega-dungeon is going to be linear your first time through, and then subsequent clears there’ll be some more pathing options available.
  • Augmentation Evokers will make use of a lot of smart-targeting and group-wide buffs instead of more targeted abilities to keep the flow of your damage rotation snappy.
  • Having multiple Augmentation Evokers in a group won’t feel useless as certain buffs they apply will be amplified, and the smart-targeting will try to find different targets to reduce overlaps.
  • There’s also a fog and lighting update to the skybox for the old world to enhance the upcoming dragonriding race event taking place in Kalimdor.
