Patch 10.0.5 Introduces White/Grey Item Transmog Capabilities in Dragonflight

patch 1005 introduces whitegrey item transmog capabilities in dragonflight

With the release of some new patch notes we saw something that users have been clamoring for for years now – the addition of white and grey items to the transmog system! The full thread is here, but a Blizzard employee, Kaivax, talks about how you must either have these items already in one of your inventories or must acquire the item again for it to appear as a transmog option on your account.

Previously these items were not Bind-on-Equip nor Bind-on-Pickup, and thus had no real function except as money when sold to a vendor. Now they’ll be Bind-on-Equip by default and when acquired and then bound to your character they’ll be added to your appearances much like the magical items would be.

In a world of flames coming from shoulder-guards, glowing eyes in helmets, and electrified weapons there’s something hilariously iconic about how plain or silly some of the grey/white quality item models are. So let your wildest dreams fly once it goes live!

If you already possess these items, they will become bind-on-equip, and you’ll just need to equip them to obtain the appearance.

Items that you do not have in your inventory when the patch goes live will have to be obtained and equipped for the system to register them.
