Once your gear is accounted for and you’re all prepped and ready to go, it all comes down to how well you push your buttons! The most important thing to remember is ABC: Always Be Casting. As far as what you should be casting, I’ll cover that below with the optimal Demonology Warlock rotations for both single-target and AoE encounters.

Single-Target Rotation

Maintain Dark Intent on another caster or a healer. You’ll start the fight with your Felguard active but will summon your Felhunter early on. Be sure that either pet is attacking at all times. You should also be sure to maintain Curse of the Elements if no one else is handling that debuff.

  1. Cast Metamorphosis on cooldown.
  2. Cast Immolation Aura while Metamorphosis is active and you’re close to the target.
  3. Cast Summon Doomguard on cooldown.
    • Try to use this spell when you have a lot of Spell Power procs/cooldowns active as it will “snapshot” your Spell Power at the time it is cast.
  4. Cast Felstorm while your Felguard is active and close to the target.
  5. Cast Demon Soul on cooldown.
    • This cooldown is most effective when your Felguard is out, so try to summon it first if possible.
  6. Cast Soulburn and Summon Felhunter if your Felhunter is not active and you are not about to cast Demon Soul.
  7. Cast Immolate to apply the debuff.
  8. Cast Bane of Doom to apply and maintain the debuff.
  9. Cast Corruption to apply and maintain the debuff.
  10. Cast Shadowflame on cooldown if you’re able to get close enough for it to hit.
  11. Cast Hand of Gul’dan on cooldown.
  12. Cast Incinerate if you have a Molten Core proc.
  13. Cast Soul Fire on cooldown if the target is below 25% health.
  14. Cast Shadow Bolt if you are talented into Bane.
  15. Cast Incinerate otherwise.

AoE Rotation

Maintain Dark Intent on another caster or a healer. Be sure that your Felguard is active and attacking at all times. You should also be sure to maintain Curse of the Elements if no one else is handling that debuff (and if there is a primary target worth putting it on.)

2-3 Targets

  1. Cast Metamorphosis on cooldown.
  2. Cast Immolation Aura while Metamorphosis is active and you’re close to the targets.
  3. Cast Summon Infernal on cooldown.
    • Try to use this spell when you have a lot of Spell Power procs/cooldowns active as it will “snapshot” your Spell Power at the time it is cast.
  4. Cast Demon Soul on cooldown.
  5. Cast Corruption to apply the debuff on your primary target.
  6. Cast Immolate to apply the debuff on your primary target.
  7. Cast Bane of Doom to apply the debuff on your primary target.
  8. Cast Corruption to apply the debuff to secondary target(s).
  9. Cast Immolate to apply the debuff to secondary target(s).
  10. Cast Bane of Agony to apply the debuff to a secondary target.
  11. Cast Shadowflame on cooldown if you’re able to get close enough for it to hit.
  12. Cast Felstorm on cooldown.
  13. Cast Hand of Gul’dan on cooldown.
  14. Cast Incinerate if you have a Molten Core proc.
  15. Cast Soul Fire on cooldown if the target is below 25% health.
  16. Cast Shadow Bolt if you are talented into Bane.
  17. Cast Incinerate otherwise.

4-5 Targets

  5. Cast Corruption on all targets.
  6. Cast Immolate on all targets.
  7. Cast Felstorm on cooldown.
  8. Cast Shadowflame on cooldown.
  9. Cast Hellfire otherwise.

6+ Targets

  5. Cast Felstorm on cooldown.
  6. Cast Shadowflame on cooldown.
  7. Cast Hellfire otherwise.
