Vengeance Passive Adjusted for Brewmaster Monks in Mists of Pandaria Classic Beta

The developers have made some changes to Vengeance, the Tank passive ability in Mists of Pandaria Classic, tweaking it to perform similarly in Challenge Modes as in other situations.

The passive ability will no longer have diminishing returns on its Attack Power versus multiple enemies, and will still provide the Attack Power even if an attack missed the Monk. Its response to missile spells has also been changed to reduce damage for the first 3 seconds of the effect. The Attack Power it generates has been increased from 1.5% to 1.8%. Finally, a bug has been fixed that caused reduced gains from the ability after wiping on an encounter.

We’ve been working through numerous bugs with Vengeance and how it performed in patch 5.4.

We want to accomplish two things here: performance in Challenge Modes should be closer to how tanks perform in other circumstances, and we want to fix the bugs with minimal impact to players.

Therefore, we’re making the following changes:

Tank Specializations
* Vengeance no longer has diminishing returns on its Attack Power gain when fighting multiple enemies.
* Vengeance will now provide increased Attack Power even if the incoming attack missed.
* Vengeance attack power generation from spells with missiles is now reduced by your damage reduction for the first 3 seconds of your damage reduction effect.
* To compensate for this, Vengeance attack power generation is now 1.8% of unmitigated damage (was 1.5%).
* Fixed a bug causing issues when wiping on an encounter and then experiencing reduced Vengeance gains the next time that enemy is engaged.
