Subtlety Rogues in Mists of Pandaria use professions that can increase their Agility as much as possible to enhance their performance due to the Sinister Calling effect. One exception to this is Tailoring, which grants the Swordguard Embroidery enchantment, providing similar value.
Best Professions
In Mists of Pandaria, many professions have uniform bonuses regarding raw stats, resulting in a bonus of 320 in that specific stat for primary stats and 640 for secondary stats. Some professions, such as Tailoring, Herbalism, and Engineering, provide far greater bonuses, yet only for a limited duration.
The best professions for Subtlety Rogue in Mists of Pandaria Classic are:
- Engineering allows you to create Gadgets and Bombs and grants access to Synapse Springs, which grants a short 1920 Agility buff. This is by far the best possible bonus that Subtlety Rogues can use!
- Blacksmithing – Gives you access to two additional sockets, Socket Gloves + Socket Bracer. Allows further stat customization, resulting in 320 bonus Agility.
- Jewelcrafting – Grants access to special Serpent’s Eye gems with increased stats. In the same scenario as Blacksmithing, the gems allow for further customization, such as a 320 bonus Agility.
- Tailoring – Allows you to create valuable Cloth items and gives you access to Swordguard Embroidery, resulting in a 4000 Attack Power bonus for a short duration.
Useful Professions
- Herbalism – Grants Lifeblood, resulting in a 2880 Haste buff for 20 seconds. Strong buff during the early parts of the expansion, but falls off later on.
- Inscription – Grants access to the Secret Tiger Claw Inscription, resulting in a 320 Agility bonus and removing the need for the normal enchant.
- Alchemy – Grants Mixology, enhancing all Flasks & Elixirs. The total bonus depends on the item used.
- Leatherworking – Grants access to Fur Lining – Agility, which amounts to an extra 320 Agility compared to the normal enchant.
- Enchanting – Allows you to add extra enchantments to your rings. The total value is around 320 Agility.
Sub-Par Professions
- Herbalism – Grants Lifeblood, which results in a 480 Haste bonus. Overall, it is weaker than other professional bonuses.
- Skinning – Grants Master of Anatomy. It has weaker stats than other professions, granting a 480 Critical Strike Chance bonus.
