As you progress through endgame content in Mists of Pandaria, Restoration Shamans will seek out gear that provides the greatest amount of throughput stats will still supporting a healthy amount of mana regeneration.

Shamans can use Cloth and Leather as well as Mail, but you should always wear Mail due to the 5% increased Intellect you receive through your Mail Specialization passive ability.

Phase 1 Best-in Slot Items

This is the best gear that you can obtain in Phase 1 of Mists of Pandaria, including gear from the three Tier 14 raids: Mogu’Shan Vaults, Heart of Fear, and Terrace of Endless Spring. Don’t forget to gem, enchant, and reforge every item to complete your optimization.

The Tier 14 set bonuses are not mandatory, but can be useful, particularly for single-target healing. There aren’t many strong alternatives for those slots anyway. You may also consider using the Elemental 2-piece bonus for its buff to Lightning Bolt‘s damage, which will also increase the mana you get back from it. If you need Haste, you can swap in the Elemental Shoulder and Legs; otherwise you can opt for the Head, Chest, or Hands to gain Crit. We’ve included alternatives for slots where there is at least one other item that is very close in terms of power.
