Protection Warriors in Mists of Pandaria benefit from professions that can increase their raw stats as much as possible! They favor professions that can give the highest amount of Stamina but also offer stat versatility for any potential build they may choose.

Best Professions

In Mists of Pandaria, many professions have uniform bonuses regarding raw stats, resulting in a bonus of 480 in that specific stat for primary stats and 640 for secondary stats. Some professions, such as Herbalism, Tailoring, and Engineering, offer significantly greater bonuses, albeit for a limited duration. Due to a lack of Stamina enchantment for the Bracers slot, Leatherworking is the only exception to the rule, offering a permanent static 720 Stamina bonus that is particularly useful for Protection Warriors.

The best professions for Protection Warrior in MoP Classic are:

• Leatherworking – Grants access to Fur Lining – Stamina, resulting in a 750 bonus Stamina compared to the normal enchant.
• Blacksmithing – Gives you access to two additional sockets, Socket Gloves + Socket Bracer. Allows further stat customization.
• Jewelcrafting – Grants access to special Serpent’s Eye gems with increased stats, resulting in a similar stat customization to Blacksmithing.

Useful Professions

• Enchanting – Allows you to add extra enchantments to your rings, resulting in 480 Stamina.
• Mining – Grants Toughness, increasing Stamina by 480. A very good option, especially when paired with Blacksmithing/Jewelcrafting/Engineering.
• Alchemy – Grants Mixology, enhancing all Flasks & Elixirs. The bonus depends on the items you use.
• Tailoring – Allows you to create valuable Cloth items and gives you access to Swordguard Embroidery, resulting in a 4000 Attack Power bonus for a short duration. While the Attack Power bonus is strong when combined with Shield Barrier, its unpredictable proc chance may result in sub-optimal usage.
• Engineering allows you to create Gadgets and Bombs while granting access to Synapse Springs or Phase Fingers. The 1920 Strength bonus is considerably stronger than the 1920 Dodge bonus, yet the limited duration of the effects averages out to the same bonus offered by the other professions.
• Inscription – Grants the ability to craft Glyphs and access to the Secret Ox Horn Inscription, resulting in a 480 bonus Stamina.

Sub-Par Professions

• Skinning – Grants Master of Anatomy. It has weaker stats than other professions, granting a 480 Critical Strike Chance bonus. While the stat is very functional for Protection Warriors, the lower amount makes the profession non-viable.
• Herbalism – Grants Lifeblood, which results in a 2880 Haste bonus for 20 seconds. For Protection Warriors, Haste is one of the weaker stats, meaning there is no point in gaining this profession besides the gold generation aspect.
