PvE Brewmaster Monk Tank Best Professions

Brewmaster Monks in Mists of Pandaria benefit the most from professions that allow them to customize their stats! As they can choose different stat priorities, they can either prioritize the professions that grant a large amount of Agility or those that can allow them to stack Critical Strike Chance/Mastery.

Best Professions

In Mists of Pandaria, many professions have uniform bonuses regarding raw stats, resulting in a bonus of either 320 or 480 in that specific stat for primary stats and 640 for secondary stats. Some professions, such as Herbalism, Tailoring, and Engineering, offer significantly greater bonuses, albeit for a limited duration. Due to a lack of Stamina enchantment for the Bracers slot, Leatherworking is the only exception, offering a permanent static 720 Stamina bonus.
  • Blacksmithing – Gives you access to two additional sockets, Socket Gloves + Socket Bracer. Allows for high stat customization for Brewmaster Monks, offering stats such as + 320 Agility, + 480 Stamina, + 640 Expertise, +640 Critical Strike Chance, or +640 Mastery
  • Engineering – Allows you to create gadgets and bombs and grants access to Synapse Springs, which grants a short 1920 Agility buff. The profession is also great due to the extra mobility it offers compared to other professions that grant stats.
  • Jewelcrafting – Grants access to special Serpent’s Eye gems with increased stats, resulting in a similar stat customization to Blacksmithing.
  • Leatherworking – Grants access to Fur Lining – Stamina, resulting in a 750 bonus Stamina compared to the normal enchant. Normally, Brewmaster Monks prefer to stack other stats, but this stat can be especially useful for beginners.

Useful Professions

  • Enchanting – Allows you to add extra enchantments to your rings, resulting in either +480 Stamina or +320 Agility. The Agility is often better than Stamina, as Monks don’t benefit as much from increased health as the other tanking specializations.
  • Alchemy – Grants Mixology, enhancing all Flasks & Elixirs. The bonus you gain depends on the items you use, but the extra duration for all Flasks also saves you a large amount of gold.
  • Herbalism – Grants Lifeblood, which results in a 2880 Haste bonus for 20 seconds. Like what Engineering offers, Lifeblood can be very strong for Brewmaster Monks when used together with stacked Vengeance.
  • Inscription – Grants the ability to craft Glyphs and access to the Secret Ox Horn Inscription, resulting in a 480 bonus Stamina , or Secret Tiger Claw Inscription, resulting in a 320 bonus Agility.
  • Mining – Grants Toughness, increasing Stamina by 480.

Sub-Par Professions

  • Skinning – Grants Master of Anatomy. It has weaker stats than other professions, granting a 480 Critical Strike Chance bonus. While the stat is great for Brewmaster Monk, you can get a higher amount by choosing Blacksmithing.
  • Tailoring – Allows you to create valuable Cloth items and gives you access to Swordguard Embroidery, resulting in a 4000 Attack Power bonus for a short duration. Attack Power is amazing for Brewmaster Monks for both self-healing and damage. However, the fact that the buff procs randomly means that you might trigger it in unfortunate moments and might not benefit from it at all.
