Jewelcrafting Leveling Guide 1-600
The Jewelcrafting profession allows for the crafting of gems that can be used to augment a character’s gear, similar in some ways to the Enchanting profession. The gems and ore used in the profession are obtained through Mining, so you will need a character with that skill unless you plan to buy all of your materials on the Auction House. We’ve listed the materials that are needed for leveling in this guide, but you will also be using many more if you plan to do any crafting at endgame. Be sure to take a look at our Mining Leveling Guide if you will be leveling both professions side by side.
If you reached max skill level in Jewelcrafting during Cataclysm, you can skip most of the level ranges and start at the Zen Master section.
Tips for Leveling Jewelcrafting
- You’ll need to keep a Jeweler’s Kit in your inventory as it’s required for most Jewelcrafting designs.
- You can save a decent amount of gold by only training the designs you want to use to level. You’re unlikely to use most of the low-level designs at max level, and you can always learn them later if you want to.
- It’s always worth checking the Auction House for cheap materials, whether gems or ore to Prospect.
- When you go to start crafting, be sure that you have plenty of space in your inventory, as many of the items you will be crafting do not stack. Don’t fill your bags with materials and leave yourself no space for the items you will be making.
- Use the Filter button in the Jewelcrafting window and click “Has skill up” to only show recipes that will give you skill points. This will make it a lot easier to scroll through your options.
- Don’t forget the Darkmoon Faire quest, Keeping the Faire Sparkling, which can be completed every time the Darkmoon Faire is active (every two weeks in WoW Classic). This quest requires a minimum skill level of 75 and grants 5 skill points upon completion.
