Community Guidelines

Communities are built on shared culture and values. Here at Lexicon Gaming, our culture is video games and our values are inclusiveness, safety, and respect. If you wish to participate in our community, you must adhere to those values.

First and foremost, remember there are actual humans reading what you have to say. Use your common sense about what is socially acceptable to say to another person – in any context, not just online. If you wouldn’t say it to someone you know in real life, don’t type it out in our comments section either.

To get more specific, below are some essential rules that we expect all members of our community to follow. This list is not comprehensive, and we reserve the right to moderate any rude or boneheaded behavior even if it doesn’t explicitly break these rules. Moderation typically involves editing or deleting your comment. In some cases we may also ban your account. These rules apply to anything you share on our site, including your username, avatar, and the content of your posts.

Inclusiveness

No hateful language, no extremism, no harassment.

  1. No harassment or personal attacks.
We welcome different perspectives, but you should focus on the topic at hand and not any individual(s) you may disagree with.

  1. No trolling, griefing, or flaming.
Calling it a joke does not excuse toxic behavior.

Safety

No threats, no hate speech, no sharing of personally identifiable information.

  1. Absolutely no hate speech.
This includes content that is harmful or disparaging toward any group of people, including racism, sexism, and ableism.

  1. Do not share personal information about others.
Violations of privacy will not be tolerated in any form or for any person.

Respect

Respect views of others, respect work of our writers and share constructive criticism, do not spam, share offensive material, or promote misleading/false information.

  1. No illegal or unethical content.
That means information about pirating, cracking, or otherwise bypassing copyright or intellectual property laws as well as the promotion of misleading or false information.

  1. Keep it Safe For Work.
Some games have adult content in them, it’s true, but we still don’t want to see a screenshot of your nude character or an F-bomb laced rant in our comments section.

  1. No advertising or self-promotion.
This includes bots, fundraisers, your personal social media or Twitch/YouTube, Discord invites, and other websites, unless posted in specifically marked channels.
