The Turbulent Timeways Event is Back in The War Within

The 20th Anniversary Event is now over, and the Bronze Dragonflight needs our help once again with growing disturbances in the timeways! The Turbulent Timeways event has returned to World of Warcraft, bringing six weeks of Timewalking dungeons and some unique rewards to be earned. The new Classic Timewalking is part of the event as well.

Completing consecutive Timewalking dungeons gives the Knowledge of the Timeways buff, increasing experience gained from killing monsters and completing quests by 5% per stack. At 4 stacks, this buff becomes Master of Timeways, which maximizes the buff at 30%. The buff lasts for 2 hours and persists through death, and it is refreshed each time you gain a stack.

You’ll also be able to earn all of the typical rewards from the current Timewalking expansion, as well as a special reward from Archivist Frithrun in Dornogal – a Heroic level Cache of Nerubian Treasures.

Here is the schedule for the event, with a different Timewalking expansion each week:

  • January 7-13: Mists of Pandaria
  • January 14-20: Warlords of Draenor
  • January 21-27: Legion
  • January 28-February 3: Classic
  • February 4-10: Burning Crusade
  • February 11- 17: Wrath of the Lich King
  • February 18-24: Cataclysm

Don’t forget that Plunderstorm also returns next week on January 14th!

Once more, the Bronze Dragonflight has discovered growing disturbances in the timeways, with several rapidly intersecting our own!

Beginning the week of January 7, Timewalk through a previous expansion each week for seven consecutive weeks. This grand tour through World of Warcraft’s past will start with Mists of Pandaria and end with Cataclysm.

Also, for a limited time, the Timewalking quest available from the weekly quest giver, Archivist Frithrun in Dornogal, will offer an increased reward—a Heroic level Cache of Nerubian Treasures with items level 610-619. The reward upgrade is only available for this special Timewalking event. After Turbulent Timewalking has run its course, the reward returns to ilvl 597-606 Cache of Nerubian Treasures.

This season of Turbulent Timeways is an excellent opportunity to get the new Timely Buzzbee mount for completing the Master of the Turbulent Timeways II achievement by earning the Mastery of Timeways experience buff for at least five weeks during the Turbulent Timeways event. Getting Mastery of Timeways isn’t too challenging, but some nuances require time. A detailed primer can be found here.

Other rewards from previous Turbulent Timeways events, such as the Sandy Shalewing, can be found on the normal Timewalking vendor any week.

Don’t Let Time Pass You By

Enemies and loot will be scaled to your level. Timewalking dungeons also have a chance to drop items that usually drop when you run them on Heroic, and you’ll earn reputation with a faction associated with the dungeon. While Timewalking is active, you will gain a 50% bonus to reputations earned from quests and creature kills for all reputations associated with the corresponding expansion.

Mark your calendar, gather your allies, and prepare to take a Timewalking adventure!
