This guide will cover how to get the Spell Power rune for Mages in Season of Discovery. We’ll go over all of the locations and requirements in the walkthrough below as well as any useful tips and tricks.

How to Get the Spell Power Rune
To get the Spell Power rune, you’ll be collecting books from all around the world, just like you did for the Icy Veins rune. The books you collected for Icy Veins will count toward this rune, but you will also need some of the new books that were added in Phase 2. You will need 20 books total from both lists (thanks to Syre for confirming this!).
To turn in your books, head to a Garon Wendell, the Librarian in the Mage Quarter of Stormwind City (38, 81). You’ll find him at the top of the tower inside the Wizard’s Sanctum. When you’ve turned in enough of the books he will offer the quest Greater Friend of the Library. Complete this quest to learn Engrave Boots – Spell Power.

- Alterac Mountains (48.5, 57.6)
- In the tower (Defensive Magics 101)
- Arathi Highlands (73, 65)
- Outside a tent near a hut (A Web of Lies: Debunking Myths and Legends)
- Badlands (57, 39)
- Desolace (55, 28)
- On a bench in a house (Demons and You)
- Dustwallow Marsh (57, 21)
- Stranglethorn Vale (41.5, 50.8)
- Outside cave (Basilisks: Should Petrification be Feared?)
- Swamp of Sorrows (61, 22)
- Loot Rusted Cage Key from nearby mobs and open the cage, the book will spawn (A Ludite’s Guide to Caring for Your Demonic Pet)
- Alternatively, you can loot the book through the bars of the cage without ever opening the cage.

- Thousand Needles (34, 40)
