Chimera Shot Rune Guide - Season of Discovery (SoD)

This guide will cover how to get the Chimera Shot rune for Hunters in Season of Discovery. We’ll go over all of the locations and requirements in the walkthrough below as well as any useful tips and tricks.

Level: 2 (Required)

How to Get the Chimera Shot Rune

This is the first rune you’ll be able to pick up, and you’ll do so through a quest in your race’s starting zone. Unlike other Hunter runes, this rune can only be obtained in your race’s starting zone. You won’t be able to complete the quest in other starting zones.

To obtain the quest to find Chimera Shot, you’ll only have to reach level 2. Your class trainer will offer the quest Trek Through the Caves.

This quest will direct you to a cave in Coldridge Valley where you will find the rune inside a Frostmane Loot Cache, a chest at the back of the cave behind Grik’nir the Cold.

To obtain the quest to find Chimera Shot, you’ll only have to reach level 2. Your class trainer will offer the quest A Hunter’s Strength.

This quest will direct you to a cave in northern Teldrassil where you can get the rune by killing Githyiss the Vile, a level 5 beast.

To obtain the quest to find Chimera Shot, you’ll only have to reach level 2. Your class trainer will offer the quest Hunt for the Rune.

This quest will direct you to kill level 3 Scorpid Workers nearby until one of them drops the rune.

To obtain the quest to find Chimera Shot, you’ll only have to reach level 2. Your class trainer will offer the quest A Hunter’s Strength.

This quest will direct you to Brambleblade Ravine Cave in southeastern Mulgore where you can get the rune by killing Bristleback Battleboar, a level 5 beast.

To obtain the quest to find Chimera Shot, you’ll only have to reach level 2. Your class trainer will offer the quest Rugged Terrain.

This quest will direct you to kill level 3 Scorpid Workers nearby until one of them drops the rune.
