Blizzard launched the Eranikus NA server less than 10 days ago, as a way for players to escape long queues and major lag issues. The server appears to be doing very well for itself, still being locked for new players outside of free transfers, and occasionally even experiencing queues. However, this lighting-fast launch that Blizzard did in order to urgently tackle a major issue appears to have had a few hitches, as players have been experiencing some peculiar bugs and issues on Eranikus.

People who took the transfer quickly realized that unfortunately, the Sunwell Plateau raid was still locked, as the fix that Blizzard originally applied which allowed it to be unlocked independently of the Isle of Quel’danas progress event was likely not in place. The Ahn’qiraj raids are also locked, as the War Effort was never completed the on newly-launched server. Furthermore, many people reported being unable to claim a free transfer to the server, while it appears that the character boost feature is completely disabled on Eranikus right now.

Fortunately, Blizzard has fixed the first 3 issues, and players can now transfer to Eranikus & clear SWP and AQ just like on any other server. Unfortunately, they haven’t managed to fix the issue with character boosts being unavailable, though they believe they know what’s causing the issue, so they’ll be making it available as soon as they can.

We looked into this, and we believe we know what’s causing the bug. We don’t quite know how long it’s going to take to fix, but we will make the Boost service available on Eranikus as soon as we can.

Sunwell Plateau and AQ20/40 should be available now on Eranikus. Sorry again!

We have been working on the bug, which we think has something to do with initializing your free transfer from the in-game shop, rather than from the queue.

We’re seeing lots of successful free transfers to Eranikus over the last 24 hours, so we think that, until this bug is fixed, you should be able to transfer to Eranikus by using the button on the queue screen.

I can confirm that with a recent hotfix, we believe we’ve fixed the issue.
