Blizzard Explains Bad Weather on Isle of Quel’Danas – TBC Classic

blizzard explains bad weather on isle of quel'danas tbc classic featured image

Players started noticing a peculiar phenomenon on the Isle of Quel’Danas, following its release not even 10 days ago. No matter the time of day, what layer you are, or what part of the island you were at, the weather seemed to never change: it was constant heavy rain! A couple of threads on the WoW forums and Reddit ensued, as players were curious about this phenomenon, particularly as the heavy rain weather effect has a noticeable impact on performance, which is exacerbated by how populated the Isle is to begin with.

Blizzard’s Aggrend chimed in to alleviate player concerns: the constant rain is not a bug of some sort, but rather, completely intentional! The rain is supposed to represent the negative influence that the Burning Legion has on Azeroth, and players can dispel it by advancing the Shattered Sun Offensive, repelling the Burning Legion!

So if it’s still raining on your server, it’s because you have not advanced in the Shattered Sun Offensive yet, so have no fear, eventually it’ll stop and it will turn into the beautiful clear weather you can see in this post’s featured image.

Interestingly enough, this is actually authentic behavior and is working as intended. When the Isle progresses to a certain point via daily quest completions, the weather will begin to improve. The poor weather here is supposed to represent the pall of the Burning Legion’s influence over the island and through willpower and perseverance, your realm can and will beat back this corruption and overcome this!
